Riverside Dr., Augusta, KY

About a year and a half ago, the small town of Augusta, KY found a very special place in my heart. The Art Guild invited my husband and I to perform several concerts for the community and for the local school system, and the hospitality of the townspeople won us over. We’ve since often returned to Augusta to wander the shops on Riverside Drive or to explore the beautiful countryside. Now that I am working as an artist myself, I am a proud member of the Guild.

Every year on the first Saturday in June the Augusta Art Guild presents “Art in the Garden”. This premier event takes place on the banks of the Ohio River with over 60 local and regional artists exhibiting along Riverside Drive.

Today, Augusta, KY, located 40 miles east of Cincinnati, Ohio and 90 miles north east of Lexington, KY, is a beautiful little river town. With a waterfront that has changed little over the past couple of centuries, the river is the heart of Augusta. The 18th and 19th century houses lining Riverside Drive occupy the prize vantage points from which to enjoy the view. “Art” is truly in the “Garden” when you arrive at this unique venue.

Walking along Riverside Drive you can tour many of these wonderful gardens. The Augusta Ferry brings cars and people across the Ohio River everyday. During “Art in the Garden” traveling on the ferry presents a picturesque view of Augusta. The Art Show also has a delightful children’s venue every year. A wide array of food vendors are also part of “Art in the Garden.” Each year the crowds have continued to grow. Last year, 3,500 people attended the art show.

I hope you’ll join me on June 4 to explore the charming town that is Augusta and to enjoy the beautiful Art in the Garden.
