Last night I taught my first bead class at Michaels, and I had a blast. I expected to enjoy working with my students, but it was way more fun than I’d hoped. My class was small – just two students – but I felt like it was a good place to start. We discussed how to pick beads that blend well together, looked at various color choices, and went through the basics of stringing beads.
The project was a memory wire bracelet, and I love the bracelets each of my students made. One student incorporated a watch charm to create a memory wire watch, and the other student chose a color triad in slightly muted colors that created a wonderful medley of autumn.
Next week’s class, Fundamentals of Wire Wrapping, will discuss how to make a pair of earrings, and I can hardly wait!
