All week, I’ve been remembering fondly the Cheat River Festival Art Market last weekend and the great time I and my family had there. Meeting the other artists and participating in my first fine-art focused fair made it a great experience. As I mentioned Monday, I was particularly inspired by the overt way in which Julie Zito Apollo of Amazing Grace Pottery shared her faith through her art. She has motivated me to finally create in clay some of the many faith-based designs filling my sketchbook.
One of my plaques proclaims, “Nature is the art of God,” and I’ve always striven to make my art “of God” as well. I think I will perhaps be trying even harder to do so going forward. It is my prayer that the Lord will shine through my work.
Art, as far as it is able, follows nature, as a pupil imitates his master; thus your art must be, as it were, God’s grandchild.
