It’s been a rainy, wet spring, but it’s also been a productive time of crafting. The past month has included craft fairs, craft fair preparation, and experimentation with new techniques. I hope you’re looking forward to the coming summer just as much as I am!

New Techniques
JennJill Designs has been in business just over 6 months, and they have been months marked by experimentation of various techniques and design styles. This month, I tried two new clay techniques that I’m really excited about. Follow the links below to see photos and to learn more, and feel free to leave comments on my blog letting me know what you think.
- Clay Vessels – On a trip to the Dollar Store, I happened to notice some plain glass candle holders, and an idea was born: to cover them with clay, creating beautiful and sturdy clay vessels. This led to a whole host of clay-covered and clay-embellished vessels, from vases and wine glasses to tealight holders and candlesticks. Click HERE to see some photos on my blog, or click HERE to view a few pairs of goblets in my online store.
- Mokume Gane – Mokume Gane is a technique that has fascinated me for years, but until recently, I hadn’t tried it myself. I’m thrilled with the results and will definitely be making wall plaques, pendants, and more using this technique. Click HERE to read a description of the technique and see photos of finished items.
Craft Fair Preparation
Preparing for craft fairs is a daunting task, but those of you who don’t frequently attend fairs may not have much of an idea about what craft fairs require. In addition to creating enough items to sell and figuring out the booth display, most fairs require you to bring all your own equipment, including tables and chairs. Just what is involved in craft fair preparation? Click HERE to find out.
I wish you all a wonderful May, and I hope to see you at some of my upcoming events!
Blessings,
Jennifer
