This weekend’s Cheat River Festival Art Market marks my first outdoor craft fair or festival, and I’m fervently praying for no rain. I’ve been obsessively checking the Saturday weather forecast for the festival location since it became available on the “10-Day” report. As of right now, the Saturday forecast according to weather.com calls for Mostly Cloudy, with a high of 62. I’m praying it stays that way! That said, the festival will go on, rain or shine. I only hope the public decides to come out, regardless of the weather.
I’m more ready than I can say for an end to the unrelenting fall of rain that has plagued the East Coast this spring. For yet another rainy day, here are a few rain related quotes as food for thought:
Rain! whose soft architectural hands have power to cut stones, and chisel to shapes of grandeur the very mountains.
– Henry Ward Beecher
Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby.
– Langston Hughes
The best thing one can do when it’s raining is to let it rain.
– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
