When I was in middle and high school, the walls of my room were covered in posters, which were often relocated or replaced depending upon my interests of the moment. However, one little printout managed to survive all the “redecorating.” It bore a quote by Calvin Coolidge that helped me find the will to keep working and keep practicing.
May it do the same for you.
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “Press On!” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
– Calvin Coolidge
